'In this video, Dr. Megha Chaturvedi talks about creatinine. Creatinine is a waste product from the normal breakdown of muscle tissue. In kidney failure, kidneys are unable to filter waste and fluid from the body. Damaged kidneys cannot filter creatinine from a person body. Normal range of creatinine : 1. In adult females are : 0.5-1.0 mg/dL 2. In adult males are : 0.6-1.1 mg/dL 3. In teenagers are: 0.5-1.0 mg/dL A kidney patient must avoid high protein diet as protein diet can increase creatinine levels which result in kidney failure. A patient must avoid eggs, red meat, mutton, and fish. Creatinine in a person can also be increased by heavy exercises like jogging, walking and weight running. A kidney patient can do yoga and breathing exercises. Recurrent fever and excessive use of painkillers also cause kidney failure.
